STEVE LAWRENCE WINS SEASON OPENER AT MANILA GOLF

The first tournament of the 40th season of the German Club Golf Circuit, the German Club Cup, was held at the prestigious Manila Golf & Country Club under almost perfect weather conditions. Steve Lawrence became the Overall Champion, scoring 44 Stapleford Points, with Josef Kral coming in second (42STP) and Werner Berger in 3rd place (41STP).

Lowest Gross honors went to Gabriel Delamarre, who shot a 77, that included 4 birdies. Ladies Champion was Haricel Pfisterer. John Alvarez became the Guest Champion.

The awarding ceremony and the dinner party was hosted by the German Club. Everybody enjoyed the sumptuous buffet and wines sponsored by Bill Cammack.
