IVAYLO IVANOV RECORDS RECORD BREAKING SCORE AT SÄNTIS CUP

The 2024 Säntis Cup was played under nearly perfect weather and course conditions on the Couples Course at the Riviera Country Club.

All 47 registered players participated in the tournament, showing up despite the gloomy weather forecast, and enjoyed a fantastic day of competition.

Ivan Ivaylo shot a gross score of 82, achieving a net Stableford score of 47 points, and winning by 7 points over Luciano Zanirato (40 points) and Gerhard Kropp (39 points). The rising Bulgarian star thus claimed both the Overall Champion and Low Gross titles. His flight mates credited his outstanding short game for his record-breaking performance.

Inhye Ham won the Ladies Trophy and is rumored to be looking for a bigger house to accommodate the growing collection of trophies she and her husband Ivaylo have accumulated. The Guest Champion was Bob Sarangay, who scored a gross 77. The longest drive was achieved by Jose Arenas, while Tschangiz Scheybani claimed the Closest to the Pin award on No. 9 as well as the Most Accurate Drive award. Nico Punzalan won the Closest to the Pin award on No. 17.

The post-tournament event was held at Säntis Silang, where our generous host Werner Berger arranged a wonderful, sumptuous dinner with plenty of excellent wine. Generous gift baskets were awarded to the winners. THANK YOU, WERNER!

The German Club golf circuit now heads towards the final two tournaments, scheduled for November 30 and December 1. Tschangiz Scheybani leads the field into the finals, with several players still in contention for the Bernhard Langer Trophy and the business class roundtrip ticket to Europe, sponsored by Etihad.
